Quincy is a fun place to visit. You can enjoy shopping, take advantage of the many beautiful parks or go to a wide variety of special events year round. Popular events include go-karting, the Tin Dusters Fall Color Run, Octoberfest and Holiday tours. Many museums showcase the past and broaden our horizons. The Illinois Veterans Home is located in Quincy. The Villa Kathrine which overlooks the Mississippi is the only example of Mediterranean architecture along the river. Today it is our Tourist and Information Center–a short distance from the Oakley-Lindsay Center–where you can find many brochures, maps and guides to attractions in the area.
